ColdFusion is a rapid application development platform that I have worked with since 1998. With ColdFusion, the sky is the limit: I can build quite literally anything you can dream up. It is a proven strong platform on which many enteprise level and very high traffic websites have been built to support everything from simple websites like mine to corporate intranets and online banking systems. I consider this to be my strongest web development language, and I use it on a regular basis. I use ColdFusion primarily for developing custom web-based applications. I developed all of the websites below with ColdFusion.

      ZapConnect.com is a leading industry portal for the medical device community. The website is a robust Microsoft SQL 2000 database driven by ColdFusion MX 7 of nearly 200,000 companies and 100,000 products. A limitless number of products are also integrated into the website through XML feeds to Amazon.com. The website features advanced searching technology that is hundreds of times more accurate than other search engines. For four years I was responsible for all technical operations of the business including the development of the website itself, building and taking care of the co-located server that hosts the website, documentation, planning, budgeting, and everything else necessary to make the business plan a reality. I also planned out all the marketing strategies, executed those plans, and measured the results of each test plan for effectiveness. The website is used by thousands of people a day in the medical field who find it 80% of the time on other search engines by searching for companies and products that exist in the portal.

      The Fusioneers.com ColdFusion Network is a directory of 400+ programmers who all specialize in ColdFusion application development. I created this network of developers and website so that I can easily collect and sort through resumes of potential contractors that I can call upon to assist with my projects. The network is still used to this day by people looking for work in the industry. I wrote this website with Cold Fusion utilizing the Fusebox methodology. Data is stored in a Microsoft SQL database.

      Kanner Corporation sells numerous brands of high end shoe lines around the world. I have helped the company on an ongoing basis for a couple years. My first task was to reconfigure the shopping carts on all their websites so that their users could actually finish a transaction. Since that time I've also helped in creating a store locator which displays stores within a certain radius of the user's zip code and rebuilt the core functionality of all the websites. Users can now also search for stores by clicking on the state they live in on a map of the United States. Locations are linked to MapQuest and Google maps, enabling the user to easily find driving directions to the nearest location. I also created funtionality to display related products when certain products are displayed (cross promotions). These websites are written in Cold Fusion MX and use Micorsoft SQL 2000 for data storage.

      Bryan Edwards Publishing sells medical educational materials. I assisted this company in creating an online catalog of their products. The website is integrated seamlessly with an online payment processing company, LinkPoint International. Additionally, I created a keyword ad campaing budget for the company for the Overture and Google ad networks and managed their ad campagins. Designed with natural search engine optimization in mind, the website is fully indexed by Google and numerous other search engines.

      Verbal Advantage is a company that markets learning products. I rebuilt this company's website, based upon the Fusebox methodology and using a SQL Server 7.0 database. The system processes credit cards automatically via a LinkPoint gateway. System administrators download a batch file from the system daily for import into their internal accounting system. I created the specs for this system, developed the entire site, and hosted the site and email services on my co-located server. The site has become very successful and has done a good job of complimenting the company's overall sales.

      HBS International is a distributor of hardware and software for the Macintosh and PC platforms who primarily serve foreign countries. I assisted the company by creating an online catalog of approximately 70,000 products and an automated quote generator. I designed the website such that search engines would be able to fully index all of the content within the website (natural search engine optimization). The majority of the new customers find this website by searching for the products that exist within it on other search engines.

      Oso Home Care is a distributor of medical equipment in Irvine, CA. This ColdFusion-based website is driven by the ZapConnect.com content management system I developed. The company can edit all of the contents of the website, such as the products, services, classified ads, job postings, etc. via their account at ZapConnect.com. Additionally, since both this website and the ZapConnect.com website share the same database, whatever appears on this website also appears within the master ZapConnect.com directory. This unique content management system enables Oso Home Care to present a unique image to their customers while still taking advantage of being in the world's largest medical device directory.


    Bassathon.com Fishing and Camping Goods

      Bassathon.com is a simple catalog of fishing and camping goods written in ColdFusion with an MS Access database back end. The catalog can be browsed by category, item name or brand name or searched by keyword. Each item is linked up through a Commission Junction affiliate channel to other websites where the final transactions are completed and tracked for referral revenue.




    Doctor Samimi

      Doctor Samimi is a world reknown gynecological surgeon and an educator in his field of medicine. Doctor Samimi has also published several instructional videos which help other doctors in the field to learn his techniques. I converted these videos from DVD format to progressive-download, web viewable format, which basically means that the user does not need a high speed connection to the Internet to view the entire videos as they are streamed to users' computers as they are watching them. To view the videos, the user first pays for the access rights to view them. This was accomplished by integrating PayPal as the payment processor into the website. I also created a keyword ad campaign budget for Doctor Samimi through the Overture network and managed that campaign.
